KFBRV Ch 131

Zion was in the process of reconstructing the Mind Control barrier on the outskirts of the capital.

The task of creating a dense golden web to cover the capital like a dome. As a task only he could perform, not a single inch of error was tolerated.

Several calamities, noticing the barrier being erected, attacked him agilely. Johan was dealing with the calamities beside him to ensure his concentration wasn't broken.

Certainly, the completeness is far higher than what I was making last time.

It wasn't a matter of proficiency. It was a matter of Zion's own condition.

Just hugging her once back then improved my condition incomparably.

Even though it wasn't a purification achieved through Odette's will.

Now just a little more.

The framework was nearing completion.

It was then. A cluster of light never seen before suddenly surged toward Zion and Johan.

Zion’s mind went blank from the sudden ecstasy, and his concentration scattered.

The Crown Prince's rough voice was heard.

[Johan] "Don't lose focus, Zion!"

[Zion] "Damn it, I know. Your Highness."

It was the basic framework of the barrier he had been building for a week, and it was in the final stages. If his mind scattered now, the efforts of nearly a week would go to waste.

Zion bit the inside of his mouth hard. Only after tasting blood could he barely regain his senses and complete the framework.

Because ecstasy and pleasure climbed up his spine, maintaining his usual concentration caused cold sweat to break out all over his body.

Both Zion and Johan realized it instantly. That the starting point of this scent and light was Odette. Because she was the only one who could make them feel such emotions.

What on earth is happening to her?

Johan also seemed anxious, as his eyes scanning the barrier were impatient.

Soon, when the barrier's framework was completed, every calamity near the framework became instantly lethargic as if controlled by the ability. Watching the calamities moving away from the capital, he asked.

[Johan] "Is it finished?"

[Zion] "The basic framework is."

For Zion to say that meant it was at least strong enough that calamities wouldn't be able to invade the capital for nearly a year. Soon, he would spend close to another year turning it into a permanent barrier.

Confirming the situation was settled, Johan leaped lightly and ascended the clock tower as if flying. Zion followed him.

As it was the tallest building in the capital, the entire city was visible at a glance. Including the holy spectacle of a sea of light covering the city.

[Johan] "This is..."

Citizens were also rushing out of their houses, rejoicing at the sight.

[Citizen A] "It's a miracle, a miracle!"

[Citizen B] "Every river is being purified. Clean water is coming out of the water pumps, too!"

All citizens were enjoying the miracle.

They had never seen such purification. An overwhelming power unseen in any literature or scripture...

Rosaline, the first and greatest Saintess recorded in scripture. Even the miracle she caused was merely purifying all Transcendents in a single ward at once, wasn't it?

Going beyond relieving the pollution of Transcendents, to clean even the surrounding pollution caused by calamities, and cleanly heal the wounds of the capital's residents—what purification power.

Johan and Zion moved toward the source of the light as if possessed.

When Odette opened her eyes, a status window appeared before her.

As if emphasizing that she was indeed a Purifier, the status window was peach blossom-colored and even emitted a peach blossom scent.

Really, this is absurd...

A hollow laugh threatened to burst from her lips.

What she wanted in this life was to escape her family and the male leads to live a real life. To such a life, awakening as a real Purifier was merely an annoying variable.

What about the life I wished for? The plans I made for it?

Why?! Now of all times, now!

It was the moment she felt despairing anger. A strange voice was heard.

[Man] "Saintess, please accept my bow."

She started at the sound and looked around.

['Mueller's Report' was retrieved by the Status Window's inventory just before Odette fainted. Please rest assured♥.]

Behind the status window that displayed a notification and disappeared, at least several hundred people surrounded her.

And one person in the very front row was bowing to her. It was a bow with the head touching the ground, the kind priests performed when offering to God.

Following him, other people began to bow one after another.

My head feels like it's going to explode just from the fact that Charlotte is Han Songyi...

Her head throbbed. The status window, the crowd surrounding her, and even the flower scent emanating from her body. There was nothing she liked.

[Johan] "Are you in much pain? Odette."

His voice was excessively close. Only then did she, feverish, realize she was being held in his arms.

[Odette] "......"

She didn't answer. She had no energy to do so, nor did she want to.

[Zion] "Do you call that a question, Your Highness? Her fever is that high. Odette, it would be best to show you to the High Priest first. You were already awakened, so that just now was an awakening phenomenon. Since you re-awakened unprecedentedly, your condition..."

[Viktor] "Darling, are you okay? Hey, Crown Prince. Our darling is uncomfortable because you're holding her like crap. Hand her over to me."

[Johan] "Zion, the High Priest, isn't the issue. Let's call the Imperial Physician first."

Zion and Viktor were also beside Johan.

Check Loathing.

Odette repeated those words inwardly with a somewhat hollow heart.

[Johan's Loathing: 0]

[Zion's Loathing: 0]

[Viktor's Loathing: 0]

I never imagined I would look at the Loathing I dreamed of so much with this kind of feeling.

A hollow laugh escaped her.

I lived so anxiously and diligently just to lower that.

As long as she is a real Purifier, Transcendents can't kill her anyway. Whether Loathing is 100 or something far exceeding 100. Now they can't kill her.

For something I didn't even need to lower... struggling so much, trying to please them.

Odette of the past life lived a truly laughable life. Because she hated such a life so much, she struggled desperately not to be laughable in this life, but in the end, she felt laughable again.

She spoke to Johan, who was hugging her, with a drained voice.

[Odette] "Let go."

It was a voice cold even to her own ears. To the extent that all three male leads flinched and looked at her. As if hearing such a voice for the first time.

Come to think of it, I have never revealed my emotions in front of them.

Thinking only of their Loathing, she had never even thought of revealing the disgust she felt toward them.

I was the one who felt real disillusionment, real hatred.

[Johan] "Did it... hurt too much? I'm sorry. I didn't intend to hurt you."

Interpreting "let go" as something else, strength drained from his arms as he stammered in confusion.

Odette raised her body from Johan's embrace.

[Viktor] "Darling, where are you going? Do you even know your body's condition right now?"

[Odette] "Don't touch me!"

She coldly swatted away Viktor's hand, trying to grab her. She didn't care in the slightest about his surprised expression anymore.

[Odette] "Don't touch my body as you please ever again. And don't interfere in my life as you please either."

Warning them with a voice even colder than before, she turned away from them. Her whole body was hot, and her chest felt tight.

So you can feel this overwhelmed when you are too angry.

She wanted to leave this place immediately, but amidst the crowd bowing to her arbitrarily, it was impossible even to take a single step of her own will.

[Odette] "Move aside."

Then, several citizens stood up, moved aside, went back to the rear line, and bowed their heads to her again.

It was a situation truly laughable beyond measure. Those who mocked, despised, and ridiculed her as a villainess and whatnot until not long ago.

The moment she barely escaped the river with a sneer, a pure white carriage blocked her path. Soon, the Pope and High Priests hurriedly disembarked from it.

[Pope] "Oh, I have never seen anything like this. Even the miracle of the great Saintess Rosaline's awakening lasted only 10 minutes. To think you caused a miracle for a whopping 3 hours. Moreover, this is a re-awakening! God certainly loves Saintess Odette especially!"

[High Priest] "Please board the Temple's carriage, Saintess. We have come to escort you."

The High Priest who spoke opened the door of the Temple carriage. It was a face she had seen in her past life.

The High Priests, who used to debate whether to burn her at the stake as an example or stone her to death, were all looking at her with eyes full of awe.

[Pope] "By the authority of the Pope, I designate today as the feast day of 'Saintess Odette'! Never in my life has there been such a joyous day!"

Priests in front, crowds behind. None of them cared about the emotions she was feeling. She felt like a lost child in the middle of that noisy space.

Someone... please get me out of here.

She just wanted to disappear anywhere.

It was then. Suddenly, the sound of a horse running noisily came from the far left.
