[No other method exists.]

[Now you can use the powers of the S-class Transcendents as if you are their master.]

[Focus only on your own survival.]

It was a total deception from the very beginning.

Odette dropped to her knees beside Johan's severed upper body, gasping for air. She performed CPR on him.

[Odette] "Don't do this."

A fierce internal lightning strike had charred his entire body black. She understood CPR couldn't revive a corpse in this state, but she refused to stop. She pressed down on his chest with all her strength, acting like a madwoman.

[Odette] "Get up...... Open your eyes...... Open your eyes!"

She gasped.

[Odette] "You hated me! You despised me from the very beginning! So why are you doing this now? Why sacrifice yourselves now?"

A desperate urge to scream into the empty air consumed her.

No. No! Don't die on your own terms!

Who asked you to sacrifice yourselves? Why did you die for someone like me? Why would you go this far to save me? When was I ever kind to you?

[Odette] "You should have just kept hating me. You should have wanted to kill me like before! I never wanted this. Please live! Don't die...... Please. Please......"

Tears choked her screaming voice.

[Odette] "I am scared..… It is all because I stayed alive......"

Strength left her hands.

[Odette] "If this fate awaited us, it is better for me to die alone like in my past life...... Why die so foolishly like this......"

She always struggled to survive. Her fierce desire for life mirrored pure stubbornness. Since others hated her, she refused to break. She lived shamelessly, lifting her head high like a tightly pulled string. The people who hated her wanted her dead. She held onto the stubborn vow that she would never give them that joy.

She hated how love loosened the stubbornness that supported her life. She knew how weak love made her. She knew a single handful of affection would make her blind. That is why she avoided love at all costs.

[Odette] "You bastards......"

But only one emotion makes a person die happily for someone else.

The tight string of stubbornness that always supported her snapped.

[Odette] "Sob. You bastards......"

She sobbed loudly. She blankly poured her purification magic into Johan, Viktor, and Zion. Endless tears flowed down her cheeks, but she ignored them.

Why does everything keep going wrong?

She only wanted to stop Karl from dying, but a disaster dragged her in. She merely struggled to escape Rosaline's trap, but all the male leads died instead.

[Purifying the dead is useless.]

The status window, her supposed helper, had deceived her completely.

Odette ignored the text and forced her purification power into them. Tears dripped from her cheeks to the floor.

[They are dead. Accept it with joy.]

[Odette] "Shut up! Please!"

[With the death of the male leads, the 'Owner of the Status Window' will soon gain absolute freedom.]

[The greatest wish of the 'Owner of the Status Window' was 'to live happily in a world without the male leads.']

[Congratulations! Your wish is about to come true.]

[Odette] "Are you crazy?"

The status window often asked psychopathic questions, but this crossed the line completely. Did it expect her to cheer in this nightmare?

[Odette] "Even so, I never once wished for them to die......"

Her voice trembled.

The Transcendents were a nightmare to her. They murdered her in her past life, so she refused to get involved with them. Facing them brought back the agony of her past, crushing her spirit. Sometimes, the injustice of it all overwhelmed her.

Yes. You probably hate me too. But I was desperate. I didn't deceive you by becoming a fake purifier because I wanted to. I admired you with such a bright heart.

In the end, you killed me just like you wanted. You killed the terrible villainess and got your happy ending. You rejoiced and mocked my death so much. So you don't need to hate me in this life!

She knew they were victims too, but moments of fierce resentment still flared inside her. Yet, she never once wished for their deaths. Especially not in this horrific way.

[......]

A sudden realization struck her as she frantically poured out her purification.

Ah......, Karl! He has the power of time!

Turning back time held far more hope than mindlessly pouring out purification.

Why am I just remembering this obvious fact?

Shock blinded her logic. She quickly turned toward Karl.

[Odette] "Karl!"

She opened her mouth to shout his name, but froze.

[Karl] "......"

Silence hung in the air. Karl sat in a corner of the sphere, watching Odette with an unfamiliar expression. His unusually deep red eyes belonged to a completely different man.

Despite the urgent situation, she couldn't speak. His outward appearance remained the same, but his overwhelming pressure and gaze transformed him into another being entirely.

[Karl] "You consider the Transcendents so terrible, so why do you want to save them?"

A quiet question. His voice carried a different depth and resonance than usual. The low tone echoed through the sphere.

Anxious and rushed, she ignored the difference and spoke to him.

[Odette] "Please, please. Come here and turn back time. Hurry, we must save the Transcendents."

[Karl] "Is that not a glorious death for them? You even mourn for them."

Karl failed to understand her sorrow. He didn't reject her request despite his confusion. He stepped closer to her and the corpses of the Transcendents.

[Karl] "Revive."

A black light wrapped around the corpses of the Transcendents at his command. Odette stared anxiously at the gruesome bodies.

Please come back to life. Please don't die.

According to the rules of The Only Savior, Karl's power would fail. A supernatural ability held no power against a higher-grade ability.

The power of the beasts that killed the Transcendents surpassed Karl's ability to turn back time. Those beasts were originally S-class, and they had even thrown off their human shackles.

She pinned her hopes on a razor-thin chance.

Her worries vanished as the Transcendents' torn bodies reattached instantly. The areas completely charred by the internal lightning strike healed immediately. Color returned to their pale faces, and they let out faint but clear breaths.

[Odette] "Thank...... goodness."

She lost her strength and collapsed to the floor.

[Odette] "Thank goodness......"

Her lungs finally drew a proper breath. She finally registered her surroundings. The first emotion that hit her upon realizing this was a deep sense of disconnect.

Why is it...... so quiet?

Rosaline's beasts had raged loudly outside, threatening to smash the sphere. However, the terrible vibrations had stopped completely at some point.

She looked up at the sphere in confusion.

[Odette] "......!"

Rosaline stood frozen mid-laughter. Her pink hair, previously swaying with the ocean currents, hung suspended in midair like ice.

What is...... this......

The beasts froze exactly as they bounced off the sphere. The barrier cracked and shattered, yet not a single drop of water leaked inside. The time of the entire ocean stood perfectly still.

She scanned the surface of the sphere, taking in the impossible sight.

This scale is too massive for Karl's ability.

The power of time had clear spatial limits. It possessed nowhere near enough power to stop the massive deep sea. Furthermore, no Transcendent could stop hundreds of rampaging beasts freed from their prisons.

Exactly when did time stop?

She swallowed hard.

The silence fell right after the three Transcendents died on their own terms. This exact moment matched when Odette completely forgot about Karl's existence. She conversed with the status window without registering him, even though they shared the same sphere. A delayed question struck her mind.

Did that happen just because she lost her mind in grief?

Karl didn't lack presence to the point where she would completely forget him just because he stayed quiet. The moment she thought of this, the status window chimed again.

[How heartless.]

[You give out your cheap sympathy so easily, so why do you never show it to me?]

The First Transcendent.

She finally understood his identity. Her mouth ran completely dry.

The fragments falling like glass when the sphere cracked proved Karl was the one who reincarnated her.

A power to turn back time that far exceeded the level of a supernatural ability. If Karl wielded such power, he could travel even further back. To the very beginning of time, for instance.

Her heart pounded. Even though it sounded like a massive leap in logic, her intuition screamed that it was the correct answer.

Another piece of evidence existed. When he used his ability, he always commanded his materialized clock to "turn back."

But the words he used a moment ago to save the Transcendents were not to turn back......

[Karl] "Correct. It was 'revive'."

He answered, openly displaying that he read her mind.

[Karl] "What you are thinking right now is correct."

[Because I am the First Transcendent.]

Following his voice, the status window chimed in agreement.
